1 I used acorn squash.
  • 1 I used acorn squash.
  • 2 I used a battery operated screwdriver with a Phillips head
  • 3 & 4 I drilled two holes at the high point on the squash. See how the squash lays on the baking dish. Then drill at top most part.

  • 5 Place in a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes. Test with fork for tenderness. You should be able to pierce outer shell and press through fairly easily.
  • 6 Squash is easier to cut now. Use a serrated blade on a cutting board. Be careful as squash can be slippery. Sometimes I wear food grade latex gloves. Makes holding squash easier.
  • 7 Easily remove seeds using a tablespoon to scoop out
  • 8 Scoop out squash for use in soups or souffle's, puddings or pies. This trick works with most squash.
